Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra, well renowned among orthodox communities, attracts tourists from miles away due to its breathtaking views, overlooking the Kremnets mountains. The baroque Dormition Cathedral (1771-1783р.), Holy Trinity church (1906-1912р.) and a 64-meter-high bell tower (1861-1871р.) with the bell of 11,5 tones impress with flawlessness.
Pilgrims from all over the world come to Pochayiv to see the three greatest holy shrines of Christianity: the footprint of the Holy Mother, the Most Holy Mother of God icon and the incorruptible relics of Job. Great numbers of people were supposedly healed there with water from the holy well. Meanwhile St. Duhovsky skete is interesting place to see for self enrichment.
The Spring of St. Anna, situated in this village, is another place of pilgrimage for many Christians. The spring is considered to have spiritual and physical healing powers, healing complex disorders, including infertility, if one takes a bath there three times in a row.
As one of the most beautiful cities in Ukraine, Kremnets offers a great number of natural and historical sights. Castle Hill (Mount Bona) (397 m), with scenic ruins of the castle, overlooks the city; there you can view panoramas of the city situated on the picturesque mountains.
Huge buildings of the Jesuit College (1731-1753р.) draws attention as well. Thanks to the college, Kremenets was rightly coined the “Volyn Athens”. Tourists’ attention is also captured by St. Nicholas Church (XVI century), Kremenets Theophany Convent, St. Nicholas’ cathedral (ХІХ century) and beautiful botanical gardens.
