This village hosts Mezhyhirya, the former private residence of Viktor Yanykovych, where he lived from 2002 until 2014. From 1995, Mezhyhirya was a state government residence until it was privatized in 2007. Mezhyhirya is both a symbol and museum of corruption on a presidential scale.
