This village is known all over Europe now because of its Malanka celebration (so called Perebyriia – disguise). It is held every year on Old New Year and it is the greatest and most interesting Ukrainian carnival. You will learn a lot about old and glorious Malanka traditions if you visit Malanka Museum. You will also be able to see both traditional carnival costumes such as “grandfather”, “bear”, “devil”, “tsar and tsarina” and costumes unique to this region, such as straw bears and hairdressers. Everybody who is interested in festival mask producing, will be able to get acquainted with this folk art during workshop at folk master house.
