On the place of the fortified ancient Russian settlement is the estate of the owners of the village. Not far from this estate, grows an old oak tree, which, according to local legend, Hetman originated from. Some researchers argue that Ivan Vygovsky was buried in Ruda. Regardless of whether this is true or not, the Ukraine museum of the Hetman Ivan Vygovsky reveals the history of the town.
