The Manyava Hermitage Historical and Architectural Reserve was founded as a monastery in a picturesque corner of the Carpathians by Iov Knyagynetsky, a monk from Mount Athos, in 1606. In times of the heyday of the monastery, more than 556 monasteries of Eastern Europe were subordinated to it. Now here is the Manyavsky Cross-Exaltation Monastery of the UOC-KP. Believers can pray in many temples, as well as visit the Blessed Stone, a healing spring nearby which water has properties such as the waters of Lourdes.
