This village is known as the birthplace of the famous Ukrainian poet, writer, artist and public figure - Taras Shevchenko. Currently, in the village you can see the house of Yakym Boyko - Taras Shevchenko's grandfather. Moryntsi enchant with the beauty of its nature, that is melodiously sung in the works of the Great Kobzar.

Former Kerelivka, where Shevchenko spent his childhood. Nowadays there is literary-memorial museum, that is located in the former yard of Taras` house. Next to the museum, on the slope of the ravine is the tomb of the poet's mother - Kateryny.

The visiting card of this city is the National Dendrological Park "Sofiyivka", which is the most beautiful park in our country and was selected as one of the seven wonders of Ukraine. Sofiyivka was built at the turn of the XVIII-XIX centuries by Stanisław Szczęsny Potocki as a gift to his beautiful Greek wife Sofia. The park covers an area of ​​about 180 hectares, it has more than 2,000 types of trees and shrubs from around the world.

The real Mecca of this city is the National Museum-Estate of the outstanding scientist, genius surgeon, anatomist, teacher and public figure Mykola Ivanovych Pirogov. The museum includes the house where Pirogov lived, the museum-pharmacy, the memorial park and the church-burial, where the embalmed body of the great scientist rests. The city, that is at the confluence of the Southern Bug and Buzhok rivers, is famous throughout all Ukraine due to its fantastic fortress (XVI-XIX centuries), picturesque towers and defensive walls which can be seen from everywhere. The size of the castle is also impressive, its area is 4 hectares and the length of the walls is from 85 to 130 meters. In the middle of the fortress are the ruins of the Senyavsky palace and the church (1586).

The city is a major pilgrimage center of the Hasidim, because it was here that the founder of Hasidism Baal Shem Tov (BeshT) lived and died.
