The location of the 'Berestechko Battlefield' National Historical Memorial Reserve. Here, in 1651 happened the tragic battle between the Cossacks, under the leadership of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, and the Army of the Polish Crown. A chapel of Saint George was built on the place of the battlefield in 1914, and a wooden church of St Michael (from 1650) was moved there from a nearby village.
In 1885-1890, on the border with what was then the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the army of Tsarist Russia built a huge defensive fortress that survived two World Wars and still impresses with its vast scale. Three levels of the construction are above ground and three below, containing the remains of barracks, connected by a web of passageways and tunnels, captivating and intriguing generations of tourists.
This ancient city of the historic region of Volin has 29 notable architectural monuments, making up the Dubno Historical-Cultural Reserve. However, the most outstanding attraction of the city is the impregnable Dubno castle, dating from 1492, with not only its defensive ramparts and bastions but also the Ostrozky and Liubomorsky palaces (from the 16th and 18th centuries, respectively). In the city, you can see the former Church of the Bernardine monastery (1627), Lutsk gate (16th century), the Carmelite monastery (17th century), the Holy Transfiguration Church (1643), and the synagogue (19th century).
This is the location of the world-famous “Tunnel of Love”, a botanic phenomenon, created from a dense growth of over-arching trees and bushes around a narrow-gauge railway. Thanks to the picturesque, romantic appeal of this place it is a magnet for tourists, especially couples, who come here to enjoy a walk through this mystical tunnel.
Lutsk is one of the most interesting cities of Ukraine. The pearl of the city is the High Castle (built 1340-1384) with its well preserved three-towered entranceway (Liubart's Tower), the Styrene (or “Svidigaila”) and Vladich Towers, and the foundation-remains of the church of Ivan the Theologian (ХІІІ). Also, you can visit the church of the Intercession (XV), the cathedral church of Sts Peter and Paul (1610), the Lutheran Church (1907), the Church of Christ Ascendant (XVІІ), the former synagogue (1626), and the church of the Holy Trinity (1752). You will also enjoy the Lutsk “House of Chimeras”, by the artist Mykola Golovan with its bizarre sculptures and patterns, an extremely unique installation in Lutsk.
Here you can learn about one of the most famous poets of Ukraine – Lesia Ukrainka, and see how people of her time lived here.
In the village of Radovychi, Turia district, there is one of the largest deer farms in Ukraine. Currently, the herd of deer numbers more than 500 heads (two subspecies of Latvian deer, Alpine, and Verger). The eco-park also has two sheds exhibiting retro machinery, where you can see wartime machinery and retro cars. We invite you to visit the Amila Ecopark.
