The village of Kryvorivnia is a spiritual and cultural center of the Hutsul region, which is visited by guests not only from Ukraine but also from all over the world. Here, right in the heart of the Ukrainian Carpathians, there is the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, the first mention of which dates back to 1719 and which is an architectural monument of national importance. The peculiarity of the church is that during these three centuries, despite all the trials, it was never closed, and it always hosted worships. At one time, Patriarch Volodymyr Romaniuk, Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky, the founder of "Ukrainian Athens" (as Kryvorivna was called in the early twentieth century), and the parish priest Alexei Volyansky prayed here. Ivan Franko, Mykhailo Hrushevsky, Volodymyr Hnatyuk, Yakiv Holovatsky and many other prominent figures of Ukrainian culture attended worship services in Kryvorivnia.
