Attention! In case of adverse weather conditions or other unavoidable circumstances, the second day of the trip may involve visiting the castle in Chernelytsia and the city Gorodenka, instead of rafting on the Dniester river, as a part of the tour “Dniester canyon and secrets of Pokuttya”.

Once a glorious town of Opillia region, Mariampil is located on the picturesque banks of the river Dniester. The interesting sites here are the remains of Mariampil castle of XVII century, the monastery of the Capuchins and Sisters of Charity (XVIII cent.), Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (1930), the oak of Symon Petliura, which is over 600 years old. Other places of interest also are the Bible garden and magnificent panoramas of Dniester river.
Rakovets is a picturesque village which lays down on the right bank of the river Dniester, where the photogenic tower rises over it. This is all that remains of the powerful Rakovec castle in the past (1660). The fortress is located within the Regional Landscape Park "Dniester", so the aroma of flowers and herbs in combination with picturesque landscapes is a wonderful relaxation and rest for body and soul.
Rusiv is a village of Pokuttia land, where a genius Ukrainian writer and novelist Vasyl Stefanyk was born and is buried. The Literary Memorial Museum of Vasyl Stefanyk is located here at the building of the local public school. The writer's house with a beautiful pond and picturesque Pokuttia's panoramas has been preserved nearby. This place inspires creativity and distracts from the hustle and bustle of life.
This town is one of the centers of Pokuttya land. It is easily recognized from afar by one of the highest town halls in Ukraine, which is 50 meters high. You can also visit the Armenian church (XVIII century), Church of the Ascension (1838), Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (1843) and enjoy a wonderful view of Prut river and Bukovina land behind it.
