A pearl of world class level and a pride of the city are the architectural structures of Chernivtsi University. The complex of buildings formerly the residence of the Orthodox leadership of Bukovyna and Dalmatia (1864-1882), is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The complex of buildings is a unique blend of Moorish, Byzantine, Romanesque and Hutsul styles, that have been harmoniously integrated by the brilliant architect Y. Hlavka.
Here you will experience the City Hall (1848), the theater (1905), and a walk along the "Avenue of Stars" – devoted to Bukovyna artists. The so-called "drunk" church (1939), which stands alone for its uniqueness in Ukraine, will astound you. The House-ship (XIX c.) will provide inspiration for those who love the sea.
The impregnable Khotyn fortress (XIII-XX centuries) is a favourite among tourists and filmmakers. The 40 meter high walls, 65 meter well and wonderful views of the Dniester are very impressive. The fortress played an important and complex role in history and you will definitely remember the amazing castle, even if you visit only once.
A very beautiful place on the bank of the Dnister River, located on the site of Bakota village, the former capital of the Lowlands flooded in 1981 during construction of the Novodnistrovsk hydroelectric power plant. Here you will see Michael's Monastery and the wonderful panorama of Podillia Tovtry.

Kamianets - Podilskyi
This unique city is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, due to the picturesque canyon of the river Smotrych and huge a concentration of architectural monuments. Kamianets ranks third in Ukraine, for its number of architectural monuments. It was also recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine.
The Old fortress (ХІІІ-ХVІІІ centuries) and St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral (XVI century) are unusual for their history. The gardens have a minaret and a sculpture of Our Lady, standing side by side. Here you will also find the oldest city hall in Ukraine (XV century). The old city is beautiful perfect for walking and enjoying its marriage of natural and man-made beauty.
The Verteba cave is also called “Pompea on the Dnister river” because there are no similar caves in the world, with regards to the varied and magnificient cave structures. The length of passage ways is 8 km. The temperature in the cave is always the same - +11 Celcius. The maze “Kamiana Solomka” is also very interesting because the surface of its ceilings, which are covered with thick stalactites, which are 10-12 cm.long.
The Verteba cave is a first for Ukraine and the world, in being an underground museum of archeology. The caves history covers the Cucuteni-Trypillian culture and the Neolithic age. You can view diorama with Trypillian dishes, sculptures and other intriguing finds from extensive archeological excavations.
